ONDINE is a 30ft Cruiser/Racer Bermudian Sloop was designed by Frederick Parker and built by Woodnuts, Isle of Wight in 1960 for D A Kelsey of London.  She was initially stationed at Poole and later at Hamble.


A well maintained and cherished family cruising yacht only offered for sale as the owner is retiring from sailing after 30 years ownership of "Ondine". Designed by the well-respected Fred Parker and built to a high standard by the capable Isle of Wight boatbuilders Woodnuts of St Helens. She benefits from a regular maintenance schedule and is now ashore, covered for the winter making viewing the vessel straight forward.


Currently ashore in West Mersea, Essex - Due to be relaunched early May 2022


A solid, sound and kindly seagoing boat, easily handled by a short-handed crew and  capable of withstanding challenging conditions.

CONSTRUCTION:


Ondine is of 1.25-inch Carvel mahogany planking, splined from new with hickory, all copper fastened to steam bent rock elm timbers at 6-inch centres. Bronze floors, cast iron keel with stainless-steel bolts.  Tiller steering, keel hung rudder.


Marine-ply decks. Varnished solid mahogany superstructure, cockpit and brightwork. 


Bermudan sloop rig sets 330 square feet plain sail. Roller reefing boom and forestay 


4 berths in 2 cabins with around 6ft maximum headroom into forepeak. 


BUILDER:


Designed by Frederick Parker and built by Woodnut on the Isle of Wight.  (Several Fred Parker Designs feature in the March 2022 edition of Classic Boat Magazine). 

Part I British Registered No 302007 in 1960.


In new ownership in the late 1960s of Mr & Mrs E M Dallimore, ONDINE was moved to Burnham on Crouch. After 10yrs the next owner kept her on the R. Alde where she was professionally maintained by the Aldeburgh boatyard and was re- decked during this period.


She has remained on the East Coast since in the current 30 year ownership.


ACCOMMODATION:


Traditional style accommodation finished in white enamel with varnished mahogany joinery. Saloon with 6ft plus headroom, full length berths to port and starboard with trotter boxes.


To the port side Plastimo gas cooker with two burners and grill. Crockery and pantry locker, cutlery drawer. To starboard aft quarter sink with fresh water tap.


Folding cabin table. Bulkhead mounted Plastimo gas heater. Nasa Marine gas detector.


To starboard heads compartment with Jabsco Marine WC (new in 2021) Folding sink. To port a hanging locker.


Forepeak with two bunks each having a locker below. Aft cockpit with locker seats, stern lazarette. Tiller steering. Manual bilge pump.
